Stefano Trumpy

Stefano Trumpy, research associate of the Institute for Informatics and Telematics of the Italian National Research Council (CNR)

In recent years its main interest have been focused on Internet governance.

Since 1999 he acts as GAC (Governmental Advisory Committee) member for Italy within ICANN. Since June 2009 he is also a member of the SSAC (Security and Stability Advisory Committee).

He advises the Minister for Innovation and Technology for matters concerning the Internet governance.

He has been administrator the ccTLD “.it” since its inception in 1987, until 1999.

He is the President of the Italian chapter of ISOC. He acted as President of TERENA (Trans European Research and Education Networking Association) from 95 through 99.

He has been director of the CNUCE - CNR (an institute dedicated to research and development of advanced services on information science and networking) from 83 through 96.
