IGF Renewal: the NRO position

This presentation summarises the position of the Number Resource Organization (NRO) in relation to the continuation of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). All five RIR communities have individually, and collectively under the NRO, participated in the IGF since its inception, contributing operational and technical experience. The presentation will discuss those aspects of the IGF that the NRO believes have contributed to its success, specifically its status as a non-decision making forum with no negotiations or recommendations. It will also identify those areas where the NRO believes the IGF processes can be improved, such as the use of remote participation to engage a broader range of Internet stakeholders.
